Discovery and the whole balance sheet
Review existing investments on a look-through basis, assess cash flow and liquidity needs, and identify risk across the family’s holdings.
OUR APPROACH
A decision is only useful if it makes sense for the family’s circumstances, commitments and ambitions.
THE STARTING POINT
Before discussing a new investment, we look at what your wealth needs to support.
That includes your lifestyle and legacy goals, cash inflows and outflows, expected withdrawals, existing holdings and comfort with risk. We also agree how you want to be informed and involved.
A WORKING FRAMEWORK
Review existing investments on a look-through basis, assess cash flow and liquidity needs, and identify risk across the family’s holdings.
Define investment objectives, risk parameters, target allocation and the transition from today’s portfolio. Consider the capital needed for lifestyle, growth and opportunistic investments.
Assess public and private holdings together. Review external managers and new investment ideas in the context of the family’s existing exposures.
Use monthly performance reviews, periodic investment policy reviews and investment committee meetings at least quarterly to keep the framework connected to changing circumstances.
OPEN ARCHITECTURE
A whole-portfolio perspective does not require your wealth to sit with one bank.
WGP works across custodians, advisers and specialist investment partners. The focus is the family’s overall position and the role each provider plays.
Consulting fees are agreed for the scope of work rather than calculated as a percentage of assets under advisement. The agreement defines responsibilities, review frequency and decision authority.
